GOD'S PROMISE

"As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickened the dead, and called those things which be not as though they were."
(Romans 4:17)

Consider Abraham; he had no child, and was almost one hundred years old, yet God said to him, "I have made thee a father of many nations" (Romans 4:17). This wasn’t only a promise; it was a statement of fact. Abraham could have said, "Lord, you know I’m an old man now, it’s no longer possible for me to have children"; he didn’t say that. Rather, he believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. It pays to believe. Amen!

This experience of Abraham reveals an important principle of faith; the principle of calling the things that be not as though they were. Though Abraham was already very old, God didn’t give up on him. It makes no difference how long you’ve waited for that miracle; don’t give up; call it forth. Faith calls things that be not as though they were.

Irrespective of the situation you may be in right now, there’s absolutely nothing impossible with God, who gives life to the dead. The Bible says for us to be followers or imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1). Which means, you’re to operate the God-kind of faith. What you feel and see in the natural are subject to change; only the Word endures forever: "…for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18).

The question is, what do you really believe? If you believe the Word, then boldly speak it forth. We don’t believe to be quiet: "…according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13). Glory to God!

LET GOD INCREASE YOU:

"He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which stood and heard him, rejoiced greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:29-30).

John the Baptist made the remarkable statement in our opening verse with regards to the Lord Jesus Christ. One of his disciples had brought a report to him that Jesus was baptizing and making more converts than he. They said to him, "…Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizes, and all men come to him" (John 3:26). Prior to this, these disciples had been involved in an argument with the Jews about the question of purification; they wanted to know from John whose baptism was right.

Responding to their question, John said, "…A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him" (John 3:27-28). He went further to say, "He must increase, but I must decrease." John the Baptist exemplified true humility in his walk with God.

When you receive Christ into your heart and you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He must increase, and you must decrease. His will must increase in your life, and your will must be swallowed up in His will. Your desires must be swallowed up in His desires; otherwise, you will experience the same stress, failures and difficulties that the people of the world go through.

If for instance there’s been some sinful habits in your life that you have been struggling to put off, here is what God is saying to you: "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways" (Proverbs 23:26). Give Him your heart, mind, body, and emotions; let Him increase and you decrease. The Bible says in Colossians 1:27 "…Christ in you, the hope of glory…." A lot of us have experienced the life of Christ in our spirits, but He also wants to have dominion in our soul and in our body.

How quickly we progress in your Christian walk will be dependent on how much of God’s Word you yield yourself to. The more the Word gains dominion over your life and reveals Christ in you, the more glorious your life will be. So, make the choice today to let Him increase, by letting His Word dwell richly in you.

POSITIONED FOR GLORY:

"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."
(Hebrews 2:10).

As we ministered the Gospel around the world, I’m even more thrilled and thankful to Him for the glory, victories and successes He’s planned and positioned us for. There’s a great outpouring of supernatural grace upon us to achieve even more, far beyond our expectations.

Look forward with faith, courage and excitement to a glorious and fruitful life. As a child of God you walk in preordained pathways; the Lord has predestined you for glory. Perhaps, you have outlined so many things you wanted to achieve, but at the end not so much pulled through for you. Don’t despair; rather find out where you missed it! Mark those things you ought to have done to help you achieve those goals you didn’t attain, and make up your mind to reach them next time.

Live in the light of His Word and don’t observe or interpret situations from the realm of the senses. He’s already done all that’s necessary for you to experience His glory in your life: "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue" (2 Peter 1:3).

This is a present-hour reality. You received the life and nature of God the moment you were Born Again; and immediately, you were positioned for greatness and set apart for excellence and success. Everything you require to enjoy your life to the full and be all that God created you to be has been granted you. Therefore tell yourself, "I’m going to accomplish everything the Lord has destined for me to accomplish this year, through the power of His Word and the ability of His Spirit at work in me!" Hallelujah!
