CONSULT WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT:

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye (Psalm 32:8)."

The Holy Spirit can tell you what to do in every
situation for you to always win in life. Many are frustrated because they never consult with Him for help, guidance, or direction. They would rather go to a relative or friend for help when they are in trouble. Sadly, those they meet for help only provide them counsel based on human reasoning and sense knowledge; and that doesn’t work!

Learn to consult with the Holy Spirit for answers. Ask Him for guidance and direction concerning everything you do. When you face challenges that seem insurmountable, call on Him, and He will tell you what to do; He’ll give you the strategies to employ. The great men and women we read about in Scriptures understood this truth, which was why they never took a major step until they had consulted with the Lord.

Joshua, for one, had to rely on the Holy Spirit to tell Him how to take over Jericho:
"And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, what saith my lord unto his servant?"
(Joshua 5:13-14).The Captain of the Lord’s host referred to above is the Holy Spirit. He gave Joshua a strategy no human thinking could have reasoned out. No human mind could have thought of bringing down those monstrous walls of Jericho just by blowing trumpets and having the people shout and praise God. But the Holy Ghost said so and it happened just that way. The Bible says, "By faith the walls of Jericho fell down..." (Hebrews 11:30).

Learn to trust the Holy Spirit; depend on Him at all times, for He is with you, in you and for you! He will teach you, lead you and guide you into victory in everything you do, if you would only ask Him.

THE HOLY SPIRIT:

"It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]…" (John 6:63 AMP).

If you are born again, and have received the Holy Spirit, no sickness, disease or infirmity should have the power or ability to ravage your body. This is the reality and it’s important that you catch it. The Holy Spirit is the life-giver; He is the key to every blessing, and all of life in the earth. The Bible says in Psalm 104:30 that God created all things and gave new life to the earth through the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit—the life-giver—makes His abode in you, He gives life to your physical body. Even if your body had been paralyzed, His presence in you will restore you to perfect health! The Bible says if Christ be in you, though the body be dead because of sin; that is, though it be broken because of sickness and disease, the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10). As one who’s born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you don’t need prayer to be healed of any infirmity. You can simply walk out of that sickness or predicament you may have found yourself.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of life (Romans 8:2). Not only does He give life to your body, He gives life to every area of your life—your work, academics family—etc. Also, He makes you a life-giver. He takes away the dryness and brings fruitfulness and productivity into your life. He’s the one who impregnates your words with power so that when you speak, things happen. He puts you ahead of others by causing your eyes to see what they don’t see, and anoints your hands so that anything you touch is blessed.

There is hope for the world because the Holy Spirit lives in you; and through you He can give life to your world. Remember, you are His outstretched hands; He can only fully express Himself and bless those in your world through you.

RULE OVER YOUR SPIRIT:

"Like a city whose walls are broken down, is a man who lacks self-control." (Proverbs 25:28)

A new convert in my fellowship, Bernard; asked.

Bernard: How do I get over my addictions? "I have tried speaking to them but I am still tempted to do the same things. What should I do?"

Me: First, you’re not supposed to be speaking to your addictions, but to yourself. You can talk to your addictions all year long, but nothing will change.

Me: Secondly, you have to add some other qualities to your faith; such as temperance; this will help you gain the mastery over any addiction.

What anyone who is struggling with addiction needs is to exercise rule over his spirit. You declare to yourself "I have self-control and I am going to put it to work; I have rule over my spirit." When you make such declarations, it will pilot you and help you bring your thoughts, will, emotions and physical senses into subjection to the Word of God. Self control is restraint exercised over one’s own impulses, emotions or desires. It means to hold oneself in.

2 Peter 1:5-6 says "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance…." God wants you to have rule over your spirit, that is why He put these beautiful qualities in your spirit to make you fruitful always.

The Apostle Paul in (Galatians 5:22-23) lists temperance as a feature of your recreated human spirit: "But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." No Christian should say "Well, I can’t control my desires" or "I have no rule over my spirit." What you need do is to let your spirit gain the mastery. Through the agency of the Word of God and the influence of God’s Spirit, your spirit is regulated to gain the mastery over your mind, body and emotions.

GOD IS OF THE SPIRIT:

"God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

1 Corinthians 2:14 says, "But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because the are spiritually discerned." This is because Christianity is beyond the senses. The lack of understanding of this truth accounts for the frustrations many experience in their faith walk. God contacts your spirit, not your flesh or mind. Faith emanates from your spirit and not your flesh nor mind, it is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God. It has nothing to do with the senses.

Our senses were not designed to perceive God, we walk with Him from our spirit, we serve Him with our spirit, and understand spiritual realities through the Spirit. Our minds weren't fashioned for that; only our spirit can relate with God. And the, based on that relationship, we condition our minds from our spirit to go in the same direction and control our senses to serve our purpose.

That means, the character that we express outwardly will always be dependent on the condition of our spirit - who we are inside.

That is why we need the Spirit of God to guide us from within. He alone can get deep into our human nature to effect the changes that God wants in us, changes in terms of growth and development in the Word of God; form one level of glory to another. He alone can guide our minds to think toward God, think like God and to think from God. Hallelujah!
